Testimonials from Victory Old Pupils
I attended VNPS from 1984/5 (day-care) until 1993. The teachers were amazing and they always encouraged us to be good. I made good friends while in school and I'm still in touch with many of them. I will always remember the school that made me become a well-rounded person. Some of my fondest memories of the school include: visitation of dentists to the school, delicious and organised school feeding, prize-giving events, inter-house sports competition, and yearly carols.
In retrospect, VNPS presented me with the solid foundation upon which I built my academic and career achievements. My love for mathematics and science was ignited at this great alma mater, and in no time, it became clear that I was prepared for the rigour of high-school, topping the entrance examinations into some secondary schools I had applied.Till date, many of my friends and professional associates were folks I knew from Victory days. The school gave me the wings to fly!
I attended the prestigious VNPS, Akure from Day-Care till I graduated with the first set in 1989, and I was also the pioneer Social Prefect of the school. My formative years were spent in VNPS where the loving hands of the quintessential Proprietress- Mrs. Victoria Alade and the hardworking teachers, laid and nurtured a solid foundation for my career today as a writer, an artiste, and an academic. I make bold to say tha VPNS is the origin of everything I am today and aspire to be tomorrow. I have really fond memories of my time at the school, and would never trade the experience for anything .
The school changed my orientation, re-aligned me, and gave me a new beginning. I was exposed to sound academic coaching, discipline, and partook in extramural activities. I was privileged to join the school sport team, and competed spiritedly with other good schools across Ondo State. I also partook in drama, and was even featured in the local TV (OSRC) evening programme for chidren- that was a milestone for me as a 9 year old kid. As a young kid, Victory helped to groom my cognitive skills, and academically, I became reponsive in subjects like English, considering that I joined Victory from a public primary school that did not have much sound support for beginners. VNPS gave me a great leverage, and was pedestal to the success I achieved in my secondary and post-secondary studies. I will be forever grateful to the school founder for the great vision and noble intentions.
